We are very fortunate to have found the Vance Center, which, in a short time, has helped us make great headway in developing content for our Global Health and Human Rights Database. The Vance Center has also connected us with individuals who are eager to contribute to the Database and further its objectives.

Ana Ayala, The O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health

The Health and Development Program sustains the well-being and livelihoods of communities challenged by structural poverty.

We collaborate with leading law firms and other partners worldwide to provide pro bono legal services to international and regional NGOs and social enterprises working on health and development initiatives. These services take several forms: for example, identifying “best practices” across a range of countries in a particular area of law or policy; and conducting research to help a client develop an advocacy position.

Examples of our work include:

Collaboration in the Global Health and Human Rights Database, a systematic survey of health-related rights jurisprudence;

Analysis of Mexican state legislation to identify opportunities for replicating innovative alternative adjudication for non-violent drug offenses;

Our clients have included:

The O'Neill Institute for National and Global Health

The Center for Court Innovation
