Testimonials from Vance Center Partners

Recently, the Vance Center assisted the Conservancy in finding a group of experts in several countries with that unique background and skill set for a multi-jurisdictional project that required local law expertise in tax law and non-profit corporate law, complex subject matters in Latin American jurisdictions.

Philip Tabas
General Counsel, The Nature Conservancy

The Vance Center’s assistance, commitment and understanding of our needs was crucial in developing the legal analysis that helped us to better defend the rights of Dominicans of Haitian descent born in the Dominican Republic who continue to face discrimination in their own country.

Viviana Krsticevic
Executive Director, Center for Justice and International Law

I cannot overestimate the importance of the contributions the Vance Center has made to the Coalition for an Effective African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights, a membership organization that works to ensure the African Court is effective and accessible.

Jane Serwanga
Advocate, Deputy Executive Director and Head of Programmes, Federation of Women Lawyers, Kenya.

Through our partnership with the Vance Center, Fundación Pro Venezuela has been able to provide free legal services to the community in the town of Baruta in Miranda, Venezuela, pairing pro bono lawyers with women survivors of domestic violence so that they are able to exercise their rights.

Gerardo Bello Aurrecoechea
Executive Director, Fundación Pro Venezuela (“ProVene”)

The past year was quite successful for freedom of information campaigners in Africa. After a long silence, five new FOI laws were adopted. With limited staff, we were constrained, but thanks to our collaboration with the Vance Center, we have not disappointed our members and partners.

Gilbert Sendugwa
Coordinator and Head of Secretariat, Africa Freedom of Information Centre
