"I think in terms of the days resolutions, not the years."

V Henry Moore

Dear Solo and Small Firm Practitioners,

While marketing, tax and general business year-end advice generally escalates during the month of December, many of us are now simply trying to keep up with our daily tasks. Clients rush to get their matters completed, courts yearn to close for the holidays, and family and business colleagues urge us to attend events and parties, as we struggle to run out of our offices on time, while hoping that we did not forget to pay a bill or miss an urgent deadline.

As you stroll through the hallways of the New York City Bar Association this month, I hope you would be able to have the opportunity to pause, sip some wine, listen to some music and recall that even lawyers need a well-deserved break from it all. I hope that the Small Law Firm Center can contribute to your respite at our December 7 evening Wine and Cheese Reception and the program on Practice Management Tips in the evening and during our Luncheon Program on December 9. You can use these events to help reassess your small firm needs or simply to relax and enjoy good times with your colleagues.

I wish all of you a Joyous Holiday Season and a Happy New Year,

Alla Roytberg
