Australian Chief Justice Speaks on International Law in Domestic Courts

Speaking on the subject of international law application in domestic courts, Robert S. French, Chief Justice of the Australian High Court, joined a panel of eminent U.S. judges and scholars at the City Bar on January 20th. The panel explored the increasingly political issue of foreign law application in domestic courts.
Other panelists included Professor Jose Alvarez of New York University School of Law, who moderated the program; Hon. Dennis Jacobs, Chief Judge of the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals; Hon. Judith S. Kaye, Former Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals; and Hon. Doris Ling-Cohan, Justice of the New York State Supreme Court.
