Immigrant Women & Children Project

The Immigrant Women and Children Project provides training to groups of lawyers at law firms interested in representing immigrant victims of domestic violence and other crimes. Typical representation includes the preparation and filing of an appropriate immigration remedy (typically a U-Visa or VAWA Self-Petition), annual renewal of the client's employment authorization, preparation for and representing the client at the adjustment interview and filing for the client's children overseas who are eligible to come to the U.S. IWC staff provides guidance and mentoring throughout the process, beginning with preparation of the petition and ending with obtaining the client's legal permanent residency and/or reuniting the client with their children from the home country.
