Legal Clinic for the Homeless

The Legal Clinic for the Homeless recruits law firms, corporate legal departments and law students to provide legal assistance to residents of homeless shelters. Each firm, legal department and law school partners with one of eight participating shelters and provides a team of eight to twelve attorneys and/or paralegals.

A legal clinic is held at each shelter every month, which is staffed by two or three of the volunteer attorneys/paralegals. The Legal Clinic for the Homeless staff trains and mentors the volunteers, providing intensive case management and support. At least one staff attorney attends every clinic with the pro bono volunteers, helping to spot and resolve legal issues.
