Consumer Bankruptcy Project

Trainings are held periodically for volunteers interested in assisting consumers filing for bankruptcy and/or to participate in the Bankruptcy Pro Bono Panel.

Participation on the Panel is meaningful, yet flexible. Attorneys on the panel are not obligated to accept a pro bono assignment, but agree to be contacted when a matter arises and to consider providing representation. Matters referred to the panelists call for a manageable time commitment and are generally completed over a period of weeks or months. The Panel affords an outstanding opportunity for junior attorneys to gain significant court experience and allows attorneys of all levels to have a meaningful impact on a pro se debtor's ability to achieve an economic "fresh start."
