Recent Developments in International Arbitration - a Luncheon Discussion with Remote Access

Join former New York State Chief Judge Judith Kaye and other distinguished speakers for a program on important recent developments in international arbitration. The developments being addressed will have a significant impact on the prevalence and convenience of international arbitration in the United States.

The in-person session will take place in New York City at the offices of Dickstein Shapiro, and electronic access will be provided for out-of-town attendees. Topics currently on the agenda include:

  • An update on the soon-to-open New York Center for International Arbitration (NYIAC) from former New York State Chief Judge Judith Kaye, NYIAC Chair, and Edna Sussman of SussmanADR, NYIAC Vice-Chair
  • An update from Josefa Sicard-Mirabal, Director, Arbitration and ADR, North America of the ICC International Court of Arbitration on the impending opening of a new office of the International Court of Arbitration's Secretariat in New York City.
  • A discussion lead by Dana MacGrath of Allen & Overy and Secretary of the New York City Bar Committee on International Commercial Disputes of that committee's recent report on the “Manifest Disregard of Law Doctrine and International Arbitration in New York."
