This evening we will explore the practices of mindfulness and their impact on how we fill and relate to our roles as lawyers. Mindfulness is a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, body sensations, relationships, and external circumstances. This meditative approach to lawyering can foster stillness and balance, allowing us to be more present in difficult situations and to respond rather than to react, benefiting ourselves and those we serve.
Speaker: CHARMAINE HENDERSON has practiced insight meditation since 1994. She teaches primarily through New York Insight Meditation Center. She works as a court attorney and special referee in the area of family law in the State Supreme Court.
