| Following a Non-linear Career Path and Redefining Success: Four Stories Wednesday, April 3, 2013 6:30 pm-8:00 pm Event has expired. Registration for this event is no longer available. A recent study reports that two-thirds of women have non-linear career paths. Instead of pursuing linear promotions and advancement within a particular legal employment venue or practice area, many women take detours, breaks, or more circuitous routes to professional satisfaction. This panel will explore the advantages and challenges of taking a less traditional path by highlighting the stories of four women. These attorneys practice law as a second career, have taken breaks to raise children, have started their own businesses, or have pursued other non-legal endeavors in their careers. All are taking their own uniquely rich and varied paths to professional success and satisfaction. Moderator: VIVIA CHEN, Chief Blogger, The Careerist; Senior Reporter, The American Lawyer Speakers: TAMARA J. BRITT, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP; BUSAYO OLUPONA, Founder and CEO, Busayo; SUSAN KELLY BURKITT, Pernod Ricard; KHADIJAH SHARIF-DRINKARD, BET Networks (Viacom, Inc.)
