DISCUSSION 6:30 PM – 7:45 PM; NETWORKING RECEPTION 7:45 – 8:30 PM In today’s fiercely competitive legal environment, female attorneys of color face unique challenges in generating new business and cultivating and expanding existing client relationships. In particular, women of color: do not benefit from the “presumption of competence” afforded to white men; are highly visible because of their race and gender but are expected to neutralize these traits; fall prey to presumptions about socio-economic or familial backgrounds; and must cross both a gender and race divide to develop effective business relationships.
