The Essentials of Addiction: A New Understanding for Family Law Practitioners, Forensic Experts and the Court

A symposium presented in two parts (June 4, 2012 and September 27, 2012), in which leading experts in addiction assessment and treatment will provide a contextual understanding of what an addiction is (and what it is not), address common misconceptions about addictions, discuss the types of chemical and behavioral addictions family law practitioners confront on a regular basis, how addictions impact the lawyers, the forensic, and the Court in a custody case, and provide a construct for what we can and should be doing when one or both of the parties are afflicted with some form of an addiction.
