|The State of Language Access Reform: A Discussion of the OCA 2006 and 2011 Action Plans|
Tuesday, May 8, 2012 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
The Women in the Courts task Force of the New York City Bar Association is once again presenting its annual language access panel. This panel will focus on the evolution of the goals set out in the 2006 and 2011 Action Plans and the challenges that have arisen in implementing those goals. Also discussed will be the first-ever American Bar Association standards on language access passed in February 2012. Eric Brettschneider of OCA’s Office of Family and Children’s Services will moderate the panel and discussion. Speakers and panelists will include The Honorable Jeffrey Oing and OCA Chief of Operations Ronald Younkins, as well as interpreters, advocates, and others heavily involved with language access on a day-to-day basis. Audience participation has historically been a very significant part of this panel and we would be honored if you would join us this year.
This program is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
Event Location: 42 West 44th St. (bet. 5th & 6th Ave.)
